Thomas M. Haskins III, Esq. is a Director at Silver & DeBoskey. Mr. Haskins is a graduate of Dickinson College (B.A. 1972, cum laude) and Dickinson School of Law (J.D. 1975). He is a transactional and litigation attorney with broad experience (more than $1,000,000,000) in complex business matters. He is routinely involved in real estate and lending transactions including bonds, syndications and private placements as well as corporate finance, debt restructuring, contract disputes and related litigation and arbitration. He has acted as lead litigation counsel in many complex commercial matters as well as a mediator and arbitrator. Mr. Haskins is a diplomate of both the National Institute of Trial Advocates and the American Arbitration Association. He is licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, United States District Courts of Virginia and Colorado, United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Tenth Circuits, the United States Tax Court and the state courts of Colorado and Virginia.
As a mediator and arbitrator, Mr. Haskins has been certified by the American Arbitration Association and NASD / FINRA. In addition to private practice, Mr. Haskins served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of a federally chartered savings and loan association and was President of its California and Arizona mortgage banking subsidiaries. He was ultimately appointed by the FDIC as its President and CEO.
He has frequently been engaged to consult with various financial institutions and borrowers concerning real estate finance and corporate matters and served as an expert witness on several occasions. Mr. Haskins has been and continues to be an active member in various professional, community and philanthropic organizations.
