Mr. Haskins is a graduate of Dickenson College (BA 1972 Cum Laude) and Dickenson School of Law (J.D. 1975). He is a transactional attorney with broad experience in complex business matters; has acted as litigation counsel in various commercial matters; and is a mediator and arbitrator. As a transactional attorney, Mr. Haskins is routinely involved in real estate and lending transactions including syndications and private placements. As a litigator, Mr. Haskins has been most often involved in complex matters related to his principle practice area. He is a diplomat: National Institute of Trial Advocates and licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, United States District Courts of Virginia and Colorado, United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Tenth Circuits, and United States Tax Court. As a mediator and arbitrator, Mr. Haskins is certified by the American Arbitration Association, NASD Dispute Resolution, Inc. and is a member of the American Arbitration Association, Board of Neutrals and Arbitrators, National Arbitration Forum. In addition to private practice, Mr. Haskins served as an officer and general counsel and ultimately appointed by the FDIC as president and CEO of a federal savings and loan association; was president of California and Arizona mortgage banking subsidiaries; and been a consultant to various financial institutions and borrowers concerning real estate finance. Mr. Haskins has and continues to be an active member in various community and philanthropic organizations including the Advisory Board of Penrose Hospital Foundation (2004 to present).
